GREENSBORO, NC (March 30, 2016)

PSNC Energy has been named the NC811 Safe Digging Partner for March 2016 due to its ongoing commitment to safety, damage prevention and spreading the “Call Before You Dig” message to the public.
“This is truly the type of Safe Digging Partner that NC811 is looking for:  The commitment to making the Call to 811, waiting the required time, respecting the marks, and digging safely,” said NC811’s Director of Education Ann Rushing.
NC811 will acknowledge PSNC Energy’s commitment to damage prevention at the Wake County UCC damage prevention breakfast that runs from 7 to 9 a.m. on March 29 at the NC State University Club, 4200 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC.  NC811 began the Safe Digging Partner program in 2015.
“We strive to be a safety-conscious organization and we are honored to partner with NC811,” said VP of Operations George Ratchford. “We actively promote the safe digging message externally and put it in practice in our day-to-day operations.”
This recognition precedes National Safe Digging Month, which begins in April. Every six minutes an underground utility line is damaged because someone decided to dig without calling 811 first.
