GREENSBORO, NC (April 7, 2016) Time Warner Cable has been named the NC811 Safe Digging Partner for April 2016 due to its ongoing commitment to safety, damage prevention and spreading the “Call Before You Dig” message to the public.
“This is truly the type of Safe Digging Partner that NC811 is looking for: The commitment to making the Call to 811, waiting the required time, respecting the marks, and digging safely,” said NC811’s Manager of Education, Ann Rushing.
Time Warner Cable has exhibited their dedication to safe digging by assisting with messaging sponsorship through a variety of media methods. Partnering included participating as a subject matter expert for the PIPES Plus educational training, sponsorship for billboards around the state and working with their media division to spread the message electronically. “TWC shared costs allowed NC 811 further the reach of the 811 message than we could have alone,” said NC811 Executive Director, Louis Panzer.

This recognition highlighted National Safe Digging Month, which began in April. Every six minutes an underground utility line is damaged because someone decided to dig without calling 811 first.
